Digital edge: The Nintendo Switch transforms your console into a handheld gaming system

Nintendo unveiled its new console last week. Initially known by the code name “NX”, Nintendo’s new video game console has been officially announced as the Nintendo Switch.
In its introductory video, Nintendo provided the first glimpse of its new home gaming system, which transforms a console into a handheld gaming system — giving players the flexibility to play at home or on the go. Wherever, whenever and with whomever they choose.

No more procrastinating leaving home because you’re stuck in front of your console playing Super Mario. You can easily pack the Switch up and continue playing on your commute to work — which will greatly boost productivity, we believe.
The unit offers a high-definition display, and features two detachable Joy-Con controllers, one on either side. These can be slotted into an accessory called the Joy-Con Grip, which mirrors a traditional controller. In addition to that, the console will also support a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.

The Switch launches in March 2017, but details such as its price, whether it’s equipped with a touch screen, and its battery life, are still under wraps. For now, we can’t wait to get our hands on it and indulge in some gaming action.
