You only used to be able to find bagels in places like Starbucks and Pacific Coffee — sad, we know. Thankfully, with the spread of artisanal coffee shops all across Hong Kong we finally have everything from the classic sesame seed to healthier wholewheat and chia seed bagels to choose from.
While everyone else is too busy freaking out over rainbow bagels, we scoured the city for the best bagels in Hong Kong (and the best schmears too).

This post: Morning fix: 5 best bagels in Hong Kong
Opened by local roasters Redback Coffee, Peel Street Espresso Bar serves killer brews, freshly-baked treats and a delicious menu of bagel sandwiches from Schragels. Our favourites include the banana and nutella sandwiched inside a cinnamon raisin bagel (HK$65) and the lox + schmear bagel with smoked salmon, scallion cream cheese, red onion and capers (HK$95).

Nood Food recently launched their organic breakfast bagels earlier this year. Delicious and healthy, the bagels come as organic with chia seeds, organic multigrain and organic wholewheat. They also offer their own raw vegan nut cheese and raw chocolate spread — you can even ask for a side of avocado to be added to your bagel.

With pick-up points all around Hong Kong, Bagoes has selection of plain, everything, onion, cinnamon and raisin, sesame, poppy, wholewheat and blueberry bagels as well as bagel pizzas and sandwiches such as a classic Pastrami and spicy hummus and feta.
The cream cheese also comes in all sorts such as spicy cheddar, onion and chive and honey and pecan.
Bagels start at HK$25 each and can also be ordered online.
Nestled in Quarry Bay, Yo Bago offers Canadian-inspired chocolate, poppy seed, ten cereal, spinach, plain, honey wheat, onion and blueberry bagels (starting at HK$20) each. We love their large selection of spread which range from condensed milk and peanut butter to oreo cream cheese and more adventurous offerings such as wasabi and coffee toffee cream cheese.
Their speciality are the bagel sandwiches, which include a Calgary breakfast bagel with prime cut roast beef, scrambled eggs and mozzarella (HK$40) and an epic Philly cheesesteak bagel (HK$45).

Homegrown brand Schragels offer the best bagels in town, all thanks to their secret family recipe. The bagels are made fresh everyday and can be ordered ahead of time as Schragel sets of one dozen bagels of your choice with tubs of cream cheese (HK$370) and more.
Add-ons include their signature Schrackers bagels chips (HK$35) — we’re obsessed with their garlic and sea salt flavour.
The bagels come in classic New York flavours (plain, sesame seed, poppy seed, onion, everything and cinnamon raison) with homemade schmears.
